    Hello everybody...
First time poster here, so please go easy on me ;)
I live in Naas in Kildare and have always been a snooker fan (was over in Sheffield at the Robertson/Murphy semi and used to play a lot a few years ago), but I was driving down a backstreet in Naas last week and see QBall Snooker & Pool opening soon!!!
This is great news as its been a long time since there has been a snooker club in Naas.. I'm just wondering if anybody here knows anything about this as I'm really hoping its gonna be a 'good club' and not just a place for kids to hang out!
Anyway, if nobody here knows, I'll check it out when it opens and I'll come back and let y'all know as its been a long, long time since I've seen a NEW snooker club anywhere.... whenever I play I have to travel to Celbridge and I know its not too far away it'll be great to have somewhere local to play!

i've been down a few times and it's something different for an hour or two. Naas needed it for a long time. Playing pool in the pub is good craic but it adds up and the condition of the tables isn't always that good. This place is pretty good.

That's great news, so far this year including this one in Naas we have seen three new clubs open.
Ken Doherty's in Terenure, Q Ball in Naas and the reopening of Terry Rodgers in Fairview.
Hopefully this will encourage more people to play the game, the pro game is on the up and with more and more snooker on the tv it seems this is beginning to reflect in the resurgence of snooker clubs in Ireland.

Hi All, One of the best snooker clubs in the area is located in Newbridge!!
Newbridge cyms have eight championship snooker tables and four pool tables. Membership is only €30 per year and table fees €5 per hour. When you joiin you get your own key and can access the club from 11 am daily.

Thought I'd update this as I see QBall in Naas is now closed!
Never came back to update this thread since I started it but I did go and play a few times since it opened and although the tables weren't fantastic they were ok. I play in Dublin now and maybe I'm spoiled for table quality but still not 100% sure why Naas can't keep a club open - I'd love to give it a go myself someday and I've recently been made redundant so maybe now's the time!:)

A 'plush' club - Not too dark - warm and cosy but not sticky - good clientele (all allowed as long as rules are adhered to) - good food/drink and most importantly good heated tables, brushed & ironed daily.... or am I dreaming again?;)
