I haven't posted here in ages, anyway I tried using my Fujifilm Finepix S1000d for a moon shot. Happy enough with the results I am getting so far since I've been off the photo scene for a long time. Comments welcome. :)

It's a well taken picture in terms of focus, contrast, etc (although I don't konw how you got it that colour). I personally prefer placing the focus of the photo out to one side but that's just a matter of preference. Here's one I took that's similar to yours:

    Here's the First Quarter, taken last week with a D90 on manual, 70-300mm at 300mm, f/8, 1/200s at ISO-400.

Thanks, there was a setting on the camera for different lighting (incandescent, and a few different flourscent ones, cool and warm and something else)

The colour would remind me of the moon during an eclipse except on closer examination it's about 2-3 days short of the Full Moon so it had to be the camera setting or dust in the atmosphere.

Evening moon a couple of days ago.

These really need to be seen full size. I like moon photography, and showed these to a friend of mine who's comment was " Its just photos of the moon". Sigh.
