Dell Latitude D610 OEM XP Pro CD

    Hey,

    anyone out there have an original OEM XP Pro (Restore?) CD for Dell Latitude D610???

    Am trying to reinstall the OS for a friend, but the product key underneath doesnt work with the XP CD I have. I need the original it seems.

    If someone could upload an ISO image somewhere, it would really help!! I can even provide somewhere to upload it...

    Anyone?

    That machine should have a recovery partition with the original xp install on it. When the machine is booting (after you see the dell logo) press and hold ctrl then press F11 or try tapping them a few times. That should bring up the recovery console and allow you to restore the original xp installation.

    Regarding the key on the bottom of the laptop, those key's aren't actually used for installing the operating system. If you were to get your hands on a dell xp oem disc it would install without asking for a key (the disc contains the dell oem key used on all dell machines). The key on the laptop is really just there for show/licencing reasons.

    I think the recovery partition is gone, so I need a CD. Doh!
