Hey - Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience buying tickets from Ebay? or would i be better off going to Edinburgh and trying for tickets outside the venue? (at the Leicester v wasps final there were loads of tickets going at face value on the day!)

    Thanks

I dunno. On saturdays game, there were a lot of fans around with signs asking for spare tickets, who didn't seem to be having much luck.

I know - but i don't think Leicester fans travel in the same numbers as either Leinster or Munster...

Oh yes they do. They'd be number 2 after Munster in my opinion.

Would ya not prefer to know that you have tickets and at what price in advance, rather than leaving it all to chance with the touts?

I know I'd go the Ebay route anyway

Yeah but Ebay are crazy prices, and you are trusting them to actually have a ticket. At least with a tout, you can see the tickets!

You can see the "ticket" but is it really genuine?

Ebay relies on the Feedback system. If someone has 100% positive feedback then they arent going to ruin that by ripping someone off!

True, but a lot of those sellers on ebay are first time sellers. (well when I looked about 3 days ago anyway) and so have no history..

I think there should just be a monster "gushy" outside the ground on matchday just like back in the school yard..

Steer clear so, no history = no consequences to ripping you off!

    For the record:

    http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/97/38512797.html

appears to a scammer. Over on LF the seller has emailed people asking for Western union transfers (using an ebay service to "hold back" the money!) and says he is in Dublin/Edinburgh/Glasgow. Very dodgy.

    Hi,

I bought tickets twice for rugby games on ebay, really expensive, but then so is a trip to Edinburgh.

I had no problems bar one ticket showing up in the nick of time (day before literally).

I'd actually be more inclined to use gumtree, and meet up with the person somewhere, so you can see the tickets before handing over the money.

A lot of the guys with high feedback on ebay are professional touts, who buy hundreds of tickets just to sell.
The people with low feedback are more likely to be people who bought tickets ages ago, but their teams didn't get into the finals, so they're just seeing what they can get for them. (Check the location to see if they're in Munster etc.)
I personally would much rather buy off the latter than the former. At least that way you're not encouraging these guys.
