"Card payment declined"

    I'm trying to buy a cdrom of back issues of Computeractive magazine from the Computeractive Direct website. I'm using a Halifax Visa Debit card and getting this error message.

    I thought it might be because I didn't have enough money on the debit card to cover the price of the cdrom. However I tried buying something that was very cheap which was definitely covered by the card and it still didn't work.

    Now maybe it's due to this: They won't ship to Eire so I'm using my aunt's address in Northern Ireland. She's going to forward it on to me or that was the plan anyway.

    Maybe it's the card? Would I have better luck with a 3V voucher? Any suggestions would be welcome as I really want to buy this and its available nowhere else.

    Do they allow for a seperate billing address and shipping address?

    Yes.

    However I've checked my Halifax online banking and the money has been reserved in my account. I've gotten no email confirmation or anything. It kept saying declined and I kept trying different permutations with the address etc. I did send them an email however. I then checked the banking expecting to see the money still there and it isn't.

    Bit worried now. Only €20 though so it could be worse.
