    Hello,

I'm having a problem. I need to get a section of my car carpet replaced. The person I purchased the car from never used car mats and there is 2 hole's worn away. I have tried just using car mats but they are just wearing away really quickly. I want to get the carpet replaced and then use car mats also. Has anyone any odea of where I can go to get this carpet replaced? I can't seem to find anyone that does it.

I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me. I have a Toyota Yaris by the way.

    Thanks again.

I hope I don't sound silly by asking have you tried your local Toyota dealer, I had the same problem with my Peugeot and my local dealer had the carpets in stock. PS. You might have more luck on the motors forum if the mods move this thread there.

Thank you. I have tried the local dealers but they are not very helpful and they are not too sure of the price. Maybe its just the one I called. Anyway I am hoping to get it somewhere other than a dealers as the dealers generally charge an arm and a leg for a small job. Just seeing what else is out there. Thanks anyways. I will try and get this moved to the motor section.

if you dont want to order a new set, try a breakers yard. should be a few of them around

You want to try and replace the carpet in a car, not as easy as replacing one in a house :D

You could try asking a main dealer how much to order a new carpet -it will be a huge piece to cover entire car from pedals to boot -if only for the laugh.I wouldnt be surprised if it were dearer than a half decent starter secondhand car !
I would say find a similar model in a (scrap)/breakers yard ...see if they will take it out for you but sometimes/often they wont (you really are expected to arrive with yer spanners etc and take the bits out yourself although some places have gone all 'upmarket' and sell bits off the shelf now .
If it were simple enough you could try fit it but you might need 'special' /torx sockets to take out seats .You will have to remove a lot of the interior ...definitely hours rather than minutes work!Of course you could pay a mechanic to do it ...
A simpler alternative that I would choose is to use spray glue and stick down an identical piece of carpet or even a smart new whole mat...You could also enlist an upholstery specialist but they might insist on removing the carpet ...possibly not .
Ive even heard of kits where you can glue down individual strands of thread to match the material!
A 90% job should be simple and cheap but perfection will probably cost in time and /or money.

    hi!

i was digging around to look for useful information on what best carpet to have in my car. I already contacted the dealer but I found them not helpful. So I searched online and found this carpet replacement from stylintrucks. What would you think would be the best to have? comments and suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks!

there's usually a few companies in the UK that supply "fitted" repacement sets, but be aware that it may be a big enough job to fit them, all the seats, lower door trims, centre consoles, etc, usually have to be removed

have a look at this: http://www.ehow.co.uk/video_4942139_automotive-carpet-replacement-remove-passenger.html
