It depends on the small job.

It seems surprising enough.. after all they have turned up and provided a quote.. then they fail to follow through? Maybe you're too good at asking for a discount, and after the lads leave they say to themselves 'this isn't worth it'..

Or you may come across as a problem customer.. or it may be hard to determine how difficult the job will be, and the uncertainity causes the problem..

Small jobs are not economical.. so you'd have to expect to pay quite a bit just to get people to turn up..

Post some more details of the job.. and photos if they'd be useful and you can.. this would give us much more to go on. Roughly what is your budget?, i.e <500, 500 to 1000, 1000 to 2000, or 2000 to 3000 etc.

If your budget is less than 1,000 and the job could be tricky enough then you may have problems.. none of this explains why someone would quote after having seen the job.. and then not turn up. Have some people refused to turn up after you have accepted their quote?

    Cheers
    Joe
