I'm using a 42" inch HDTV LCD as an external monitor on MBP. I'm happy enough with how it all looks but the mouse cursor lags compared to when it is on my MBP (older generation) LCD screen. The cable is a high quality DVI to HDMI (no adapter). It's realy making working on the external monitor a royal pain in the arse. Anyone got advice!?

Do you mean the pointer leaves a trail ? Like a golf ball traveling across the screen would ? That may be to do with the quality of the screen thr TV uses. Cheaper sets use older panels with slow refresh rates whereas the screen on you Mac might have a higher refresh rate ? This Wikipedia article might help explain.

It's not ghosting, it's more like latency between when I move the mouse and when it appears to move on the screen.

again, it may be the TV.

I would connect it to a different screen, preferably a proper computer monitor, to see if it exhibits the same symptoms.

Also - silly question, but you've done a full software update?
