    Howdy,

If there is something already up, forgive me but is does anyone know of any online resource of what to look for when buying a used car per make and model.
E.g A rattle in five year old mondeo's can indicate wear on the driveshaft.

Have a look at www.parkers.co.uk, and also www.honestjohn.co.uk.

It comes with experience over time.

Buy a car and keep it for ages, and as things go wrong with it try and fix them yourself. Best way to learn.

When you turn your car full lock left or right and hear a rumbling noise thats a sign of a worn Driveshaft.

If you hear a squeeling noise thats a worn wheel bearing.

There are louds of little signs.

If it doesnt look right walk away.

Also when looking at a car, I normally spend over an hour on it.

10 min chat with owner regarding history, servicing no. of owners etc trying to figure out the seller. Geniune or not???

10-20 min test drive. Listen out for rattles etc. Find the worst road surface possible, no point driving on a motorway.

10-20 min checking it over. 10 mins interiors 10 exterior

Ring up AA. Think they do car assessors.

Worth the money even if you dont buy as you'll be dodging a bullet.
