    You could probably do better. Hyvent is TNF's own waterproof fabric but is nothing like gore tex in terms of quality or durability. I'd avoid the likes of hyvent and helly-tech etc, as in my experience they tend to be inferior. A gore-tex paclite shell might be ideal, maybe not as cheap but it will last much much longer! :)

    went to 53 degrees north. They recommended a Berghaus GTX treck goretex jacket. its between the paclite nad the high end shell.

    They didnt have it in small, but it felt like a decent quality jacket, and half the price of the equivalent North Face jacket, and the shop assistant said she would trust Berghaus over North Face.

    Can get it for about 130 euros online so gona go with that.
