Hey Im planning on flying to Birmingham on the saturday morning and getting the train up and flying back on the Sunday. But there doesnt seem to be any train going back to Birmingham on the Sunday. Any suggestions or any other ideas of cheap ways to get to Edinburgh?

    Cheers

I would say look into flying into leeds-bradford, its closer than brum is and i would imagine there will be trains from leeds.

    Have you tried Aer Arann?

    Also try Newcastle with Ryanair.

LOADS of trains back on the Sunday. All 5 1/2 hours though :(

    Try www.thetrainline.com or Virgin Trains.

I'm puzzled..why wouldnt you fly to Glasgow/Edinburgh? Are the flights sold out or prohibitively expensive? BMI do fly to Edinburgh from Leeds, There are also flights from Manchester...There's also a train to edinburgh from Leeds, it takes about 4 hours, but unless you've booked well in advance it can, as with all trains in the UK be eye-wateringly expensive..paradoxically its usually cheaper to fly....

Other option you have is to fly Manchester. Booked it this morning. The sunday flight is pricey but early flights on friday are cheap enough which makes up for it.

I got it for e225 for flights and trains!

just remember you don't have to fly in and out of the same airport so just look for another airport that fits your sunday arrangements. That said I'm doing the whole birmingham trip as well on the friday and monday
