Does anyone know the name of the song that is played at the very end of matches in croker as the crowd are leaving? Something about crossing the ocean and never having to say goodbye??

"may we never have to say goodbye" by Tommy Fleming.

It was used for the 2003 par olympics.

It's "May We Never Have To Say Goodbye", the official anthem of the 2003 Special Olympics.

    Edit: So close...:o

Blackbelt can't stand it. It always puts an extra pep in his step to get out quicker as we leave, when we are at a match together. :D

i love it, i think its really emotive. brings a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat every time (if we've won... if we've lost, i odnt even hear it, with the devastation whoosing around in my ears!)

Unfortunately I always associate it with Dublin's run in the championship coming to a premature end. Maybe that'll be different this year. ;)

It is a really good song though!

I hate it. I don't think I've ever been to a match in Croker where we've won when that song has been played. The one time we did get a significant victory there (against Tipp last year) they decided to play some Ronnie Drew song instead, cause he had only died the day before.

I guess I can see how it can get you emotional if you win, but usually I just associate it with my hands in my face with me going "Oh Christ, not again".
