Did anyone catch the 9 o'clock news tonight. They ran a piece about an appeal against the fine for Janet Jackson's wardrobe 'malfunction' at the Superbowl half-time show a few years ago.

Funny thing was they showed the clip a couple of times during the item. Will we get some nice Liveline indignation about it tomorrow or will anyone bat an eyelid?

We won't...at the time Sky News ran the footage every 15 minutes and we saw the boob, it's just a stupid right wing conservative reactionary band wagon jumping nonsense. It gave the censors carte blanche to get rid of others that "offended" them, that shock jock clown with the long hair was one...whats his name?

Nipple exposure was supposedly 1/19th of a second. Barely enough for it to feel a cold breeze :P

I assume he means that the new RTE player should know exactly what he came in to see. HE shouldnt have to click on somehtign to show him the program he wants to look at. You know, like all the UK ones................

I noticed how they showed the whole clip earlier too, thought it was quite funny as it just shows how nobody in Europe would care if that happened here, yet America freaked out, talked about nothing else for weeks on the TV and slapped a record fine on CBS.

I'll never understand how violence and gore is fine by American media but not a boob. Anything remotely sexual is the only way to get an NC-17 rating, yet stuff like 'Saw' gets R!

Nope. We aren't a nation full of idiots. In the states they will show someone getting their head blown off but show some skin then all hell breaks loose.

It is 13 mins 40 seconds into it for those of u wanting to see Janet's right boob hang out for a millisecond.

The Americans really do need to have a long hard think at what they think is acceptable/not acceptable, jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

Realplayer still works, as the RTE player is not available outside the Republic.
