chopping my long hair

    Hello,

I'll soon be 32 & have decided to cut my long hair. I've had it this way for years. Always had a grungy look & i've used it to express my unconforming attitude (as bad as that sounds). I'm cutting it as I'm want to have a fresh start, i.e moving away and looking after it is getting tiresome. However I feel slightly nervous as to how I will feel. It's like i'll be changing my identity.

To any blokes who has been through this, tell me

    How did you feel?
    Did people view you differently?
    Did anyone even notice?
Will I get shock at my receding hairline??

    Am I overthinking this?

And if ladies would like to comment, Do you prefer men with short neat hair?

    I'm just interested peoples thoughts.
    Thanks

I did this a few years ago.
I hadn't planned it, I just (very suddenly) felt immature with long hair and cut it off within the hour.

    Never regretted it.

Unless you wanna be an old man hanging out in the Foggey Dew the rest of your life, you're probably better off doing it sooner rather than later

As a lady-folk, I'd say cut it. You don't need to go too drastic though, maybe start out getting it cut above shoulder length and decide from there. It can do wonders for your appearance. Check out this handsome lad from Channel 4's Ten Years Younger

As a girl i far prefer men with short hair, deffo take the above posters link as inspiration, that guy looks amazing post makeover.
When i see a guy my age (mid 20s) with long hair i think he is still trying too hard to be rebellious and stand out.
You will feel better when you chop it all off anyway, less to think about when you get up in the morning plus the lady-folk will get to see your face properly.
