I'm a 25yr old girl and I'm planning a really big night out with the girls and I want to look stunning!I'm sick of wearing drab old fashioned boring outfits because of my size, I want something that will wow my friends!I want to wear something up to date, sophisticated, unique, sexy and trendy, I'm a size 20-22; hope I'm not expecting too much!! I've looked in all the usual haunts dorothy perkins, evans etc but there is nothing catching my eye in these places, anyone know of anywhere else??

I know the feeling, I'm the same size as you and finding cool non old lady clothes can be such a pain! +1 for New Look, their inspire range has been a lifesaver for me! They do a lot of their "normal" range in bigger sizes, they even do bigger tights in cool colours. I've also noticed that they have some clothes specific to the inspire range that are gorgeous, some of my friends have actually been jealous.

Liffey Valley and the Square both have them, Liffey Valley's one is much better though.

asos.com go up to 20 in some styles, if youre 20-22 youd probably get away with a 20 in a dress. they usually have some pretty dresses :)

Yeah, I'm a BIG fan of New Look... their jeans are awesome. Evans' is completely poxy, full of nylon stuff that costs a bomb (seriously, I know I need more material just to cover me, but come on! €40 for a dodgy top?)

Per Una have started to do up to size 22. Might be worth a look. Was in there last week and they had some lovely stuff in stock.

forever 21, an american shop which i like to describe as a cross between pennys and topshop, have launched their plus size section this week, faith 21, the selection is limited at the moment, but keep an eye on it cuz i have a feeling it'll be a roaring success. really nice fashionable on trend pieces and its pretty affordable, only downside is shipping and customs, but think they have a special offer on shipping at the moment.....

    Deadly site.

    What's the quality like?

Can you give me an idea of how much customs you had to pay last time?

I'm a size 18 to 20. Had a few family functions recently and I bought a load of clothes from John Rocha. Debenhams (spelling?!) should have a section of John Rocha clothing.

the quality would be somewhere between top shop and pennys.... i know its kinda a big difference, but it depends a fair bit on each individual piece. I still have stuff i bought from them over 5 years ago...

the fit is good, but sizes can vary quite a bit....

it was about a year ago when i last ordered online, i spent about €260 (including shipping i think) and think customs was about €40, well worth it, i bought loads of dresses for 21st i had over the year....

hope they develop the faith 21 range!!

There's a good few US sites that deal with larger sizes - one that stood out for me was www.torrid.com

Most of the NEXT range is available upto size 28. Although past a size 20 isnt generally stocked in some of the smaller stores it is available to order online at www.nextdirectory.ie or you can order in the store. Just ask for the size
