There's a national grading (including a dan grading) on May 23rd and the National Training Centre in Finglas.

Its not on the IJA website yet but I've just had the rumour confirmed.

Interesting. I was going to go to the last competition in finglas but was told it would cost around 100 euro, what does grading cost?

Someone was bluffing you, to enter the Kyu comp Finglas was €25-.

I could be wrong, but I think a grading is free or at least its very cheap.

You'll have to be a paid up IJA member, which costs €50-.

It's the IJA membership he and entrance fee he was talking about. Is there much point joining the IJA, I'm usually very weary of "associations".

Well that question isn't something I wish to get into here tbh, otherwise we risk setting in motion the whole IJA -V-J.I. debate and thats not something I believe is good for here, for me or for Judo.

As I said, there's an IJA grading on May 23rd.

Calender of Events for the year: http://www.irishjudoassociation.ie/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,36/Itemid,79/

    Gradings are €40

Not 100% if I'll be at it myself, need to see how the injuries are holding up. Plus I may be in Edinburgh :D
