Linux distro for a newbie

    I,M looking for a linux livecd that has an easy to use gui and reads ntfs hardrives.One that fits on a 700meg cdr .I want to try it on a celeron 1.o ghz laptop.500meg ram.DELL latitude,i presume it has all the drivers built in for a dell.

    As easy as regular Ubuntu, but Xfce is lighter than GNOME, so it'll run better on your laptop. It boots bloody fast too.

    Everything that works for Ubuntu, will work for Xubuntu.

    Your hardware is old enough, that it'll probably work right out of the box. Beware of some random things like wireless cards, and don't be afraid to use Google.
