I will be getting a car soon and am still a learner driver. I won't be able to have a fully licensed person with me all of the time and I'm just wondering if this affects my insurance? If anyone else has done this then please let me know what insurance company you used.

    thanks

It is illegeal now for a learner driver to drive unaccompanied, people on learners permits must have a person with them at all times who have held their full licence for at least 2 years.
I seriously wouldn't even consider taking a risk of deiving unaccompanied - the fines aren't worth it.

Asking questions like this are highly frowned upon in this forum! (Refer to charter for why)

Quinn-Direct might be a good place to start. (Im not insured with them so ask some questions)

If you crash unaccompanied your insurance company CAN refuse to pay out. I know someone who was driving a few years ago unaccompanied and was rear ended by a jeep at a set of traffic lights. Once the guy found out he was provisionally licensed and unaccompanied he refused to pay up and they had to fix their own cars... So i'll leave it at that!

Indeed. OP you already know the penalties for driving unaccompanied.
