Our school have just received notification of concessionary hours for next year? We are loosing two teachers and my hours have been cut from 22 to 16 ? just wondering if its the same story everywhere ? Also does anyone know if your hours are cut are you entitled to social welfare ? If I was put on a 3 day a week I would get something for the other 2 days ?

teaching is different in that respect. full time hours are 22 per week.

i've never heard of a teacher with a 16 hour contract getting paid for the summer and signing on. That teacher is employed.
