They are mostly recipients of bile from both sets of supporters but Alain Rolland was exemplary in my book today for the Cardiff/ Leicester game.

Clear, decisive, consistant and proven right by video analysis

Full marks for an unpopular position.

Yeah he was good. Except for one bizarre decision in the first half where Cardiff got a penalty on the halfway after Leicester were adjudged offside from a restart. You often see players a good yard or two ahead of the kicker so it was good to see Rolland clamp down on it but the replays showed the players were level with the kicker.

Also thought Nigel Owens had a good game on Saturday despite the usual absence of an offside line.

I dont think you can consider not having an offside line a good day at the office for a referee though, really.

ya exactly. it cost munster a try with rocky elsom def being offside when he tackled dowling. That would have changed the intire match. Also so strange decusions at ruck time.

Pff, Quinnie spent so much time on the Leinster side of the ruck that he should've been wearing blue(EDIT: and seen yellow :P). Wouldnt have made shag all of a difference IMO, as it wasn't applied to either side, but its still incredibly frustrating to watch.
