I recently hooked back u an old Dell of mine (running vista) but it's been such a long time I can't for the life of me remember what the password was.

So after several failed attempts I decide 'No big deal' and hit the password reset button, but now it's telling me 'To use this wizard, you must have first created a password reset disk' can anyone tell me what that means?

Its a floppy disk you create from within windows to save your password details on it.
If you don't know what it is then you don't have it :)

Use a boot cd to wipe the password

Thanks! Does this mean I have to do a full format?

    No.
If your trying to reset the password you can use a boot cd which can wipe the password on the pc.
Isnt that what you want to do?

you can downoad EBCD ,IT HAS a password reset function, see ttp://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2006/04/ebcd-system-recovery-boot-cd.,see robs, comment lower part of the webpage for ebcd password reset walkthru.
go to netcafe download it,burn it to 1 cdr disc.
OR google EBCD password recover.read THE EBCD password faq, instructions just type in a new password,no need to format your hardrive.
i remember you go to a menu, delete password,or reset password to admin11,for example is the hd fat32 ,or ntfs. SOME programs cant read ntfs format.
