have a vague memory of reading something about a place, recently set up in the city centre, that's all about sitting around, drinking tea, chilling out - no alcohol involved. I need a place to take a visiting friend who doesn't drink and I thought this'd be perfect - if only i could remember:
    a) the name of the place
    b) where it is (have a vague suspicion it might be on the quays).

have had no luck googling. anybody have any clues?

Wow, that place looks really cool. Ill make sure to check it out this week.
Can anyone tell me exactly what shisha. If it is flavoured tobacco how do they get away without breaking the smoking ban?

I have to admit I've never noticed this place and I walk along Ormond Quay most days

As an alternative to endless cups of tea, Tea Garden offers a Turkish twist in the form of Shisha or hookah water pipes for rent at €13, with an assortment of flavours including apple, lychee, grape and coconut. It’s so deliciously decadent, it’s hard to believe they’re legal but Marcel assures that the smoking of hookah pipes is all above board.

“We asked and were told that if it doesn’t contain tobacco, nicotine or tar, it’s fine,” he says.
If that’s not enough to entice all comers, Marcel promises to introduce massages and food in the future – for now only snacks and biscuits accompany the pretty pots of tea.

One of the best new additions to the city in a long time. Gentle relaxed service. Nice tea and coffee at reasonable prices. The place is really big and divided out intelligently. decor's basic and comfortable. A smoke will set you back around 13 quid. You don't have to smoke as they're happy to have any custom.

    They do sell tea.

    What is The Funky Seomra?
The Funky Seomra is an Embodiment event held monthly in The Concert Hall in The RDS.

Participants of all ages fill the spacious dance floor or lounge on giant Budda Bags in the chill-out area of the stunning concert hall space of The RDS.

Funky, very danceable music from many corners of the globe make it irresistible to get your groove on. Live African drumming, organic and raw chocolate treats, smoothies blended by bicycle power, specialist teas and a Chai Bar are some of the enticing aspects of the event.

David Mooney, who runs the Embodiment event, brings a passion for movement, dance and therapeutic work. Through his extensive experiences offering ecstatic dance and movement meditation classes and workshops, he knows very well how to create the ambiance that makes the night such a success.

Imagine yourself on a night out in an exciting club atmosphere where you're free to dance anyway you like without limitations, to the lush beats of funky world music accompanied by live African drummers. All this in a vibrant ecstatic atmosphere without alcohol or drugs.

This is what I have been looking for in Dublin for a long time: a good Saturday night out dedicated to dance, with a great club atmosphere without the alcohol or drugs. I began to speak to my friends about this and realised that loads of people have wanted exactly this for a long time.

it is harmless, its a type of tea iam not sure of the machanics(or my spelling) but there no tobacco is more for the fun element, harmless fun safe, iam atually going to go to this non alcho or drug night. i do drink and smoke bt iam on the verge of giving up on both as i feel i no longer need or depend on it, I think this night would be amazing as you could truely emotionally and physically be your self. be free and these will be the most real people in dublin city :)

Gone to one of these things before and it was full of complete weirdos and nutjobs who were clearly pilled out of it.

There's nothing to styop you from going to a quiet pub and having a few cups of tea tbh.

I go into the tea garden every few weeks I have never seen anyone 'pilled out of it' in there, each visit has been nice and plesant.
