Dun Laoghaire to Dublin Tourism Office on Sunday

We will be staying at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire . We need to be at the Dublin Tourist Information Office on Suffolk Street in Dublin by 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday for a tour. It appears the first DART train on Sundays will get us there too late. Is there a bus that stops close to the Royal Marine (maybe at the DART station) that runs on Sundays and would drop us close to the Suffolk Street office in time?

    Thanks for any advice.

The bus you want is the number 7.

    timetable

It will pass right by your hotel. It will take 15,20 mins from the time on the timetable to get to you.

    also welcome to boards :)

Thank you! It looks like that might work. Can you tell me exactly where I should get off the bus to be closest to the Tourist Office? It it the "end of the line" and if so, exactly where is that ? It says O'Connell Street, but at what intersection?

No, O'Connell Street would be do far. You need to get off about 10-15minutes before this. The easiest way is to ask the driver and ask him to announce it for you when to get off. Worst case scenario, its a less than a 10 minute walk from O'Connell Street.

Beware that there may be a new timetable coming into operation on the 7 in the next week or so.

And can you tell me how much the one-way fare is, so I can have the exact change? We will take DART on the return.

    €2.20 per person

On a Sunday, I would say it would take the bus only about seven minutes or so to get to Dun Laoghaire. Make sure you are at the stop on George's Street, not the one outside the DART station.

Also, ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop on Pearse Street. When you get off the bus, proceed towards Trinity College, follow the road round to the left (Grafton Street), then turn right at the Molly Malone Statue onto Suffolk Street. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks to everyone. We will be doing this trip on Sunday, June 7th, so I will double check the schedules. I'm confused as to where the stops are:
    1) the stop in Dun Laoghaire isn't on Marine Road, right near the hotel?? Google Maps shows it there. Exactly where is it ??
    2) Exactly where is the stop on Pearse Street-- at the Pearse St. station?? How long will it take to walk to the tourist office from that stop?

The stop is on George's Street. If memory serves me, there's a bus stop outside Easons opposite the shopping centre.

The stop in Pearse Street is further into the city centre away from the train station and is near Westmoreland Street/College Green. It is only about 5mins walk from Suffolk Street

It would probably be more straightforward to get off at Clare Street and simply walk straight along Nassau Street onto Suffolk Street.

yes as KC61 says Clare Street is much the better stop to get off as you will have a straight walk down to the office - if you just miss a 7 you could walk down to the Dart station and get a 46a which will leave you a lot closer to the office as it stops on suffolk street itself which is 30 meters to the office and a much more frequent service (though it will take longer to get into town).

The 46a doest go before 9.30 on a sunday when the op was traveling ;)

oops! :o sorry about that i just presumed it did, anyone know why that's the case? seems a bit odd given it's weekday frequency.

i note the 7 is described as 'new route 7' anyone figured out what the changes are? is it fewer to loughlinstown or cherrywood? it's not included in the service changes announced here

The main change is a significant cut back in frequency overall and a bias in favour of Loughlinstown Park over Cherrywood.
