Do anyone of the Christians here listen to any worship based music (Think Kirk Franklin, United, Relient K, Jars of Clay, Toby Mac, John Ruben etc...) and if so who/what do you enjoy?

I, right this minute am listening to the United "The I Heart Revolution" live album would love to see United live, such annointed music IMHO.

I am an avid hiphop fan and really like John Ruben and Jahaziel.

Also, anybody thinking if going to Mad-2009 this july?

[edit] Fanny, PDN, whoever, can you edit the title from "of" to "for"?[/edit]

I'm afraid I'm too old school (Amy Grant, Garth Hewitt etc), but I hear Jars of Clay are very good...

And so others know what you are talking about: http://www.mad2009.com/ (21st June!)

Done! But I pretty sure that you can make such changes yourself by going to the "go advanced" option after you hit "edit".

As for your question, I don't listen to any such music. Not my cuppa!

Johnny cash done a load of christian music and he's a legend.
Funnily enough Afroman used some christian songs also.
    DMX seems to love god.

None of them make Christian music, espically the last two.

Cash made music about his conversion and with a christian slant but never made "Chrsitian Music" to be honest.

Don't know if I would agree with that. Some of his stuff is overtly Christian, not merely slanted towards it. Check out the preamble to He Turned The Water Into Wine on Live at San Quentin album. Also, his excellent post-mortem box-set release Unearthed featured the disk My Mother's Hymn Book which was a collection of Gospel songs from his youth.

Edit: Y'know, this kind of music is half the reason I'm an atheist.

Apparently an illiterate atheist who can't read the 'Christian only' tag in the OP and the thread title.

This is a polite, and one-off, request for you to observe the convention on this board that non-believers respect the 'Christian only' tag.

Casting Crowns - my favourite song "And Now My Lifesong Sings", and Jeremy Camp.

Here are a few Christian bands with a worldwide reputation for being top class.
    • Third Day
    • Delirious?
    • Jars of Clay
    • Casting Crowns

    Irish Christian Bands
    • Elation
    • Emmaus

I will be definitely be going to MAD 2009. Both of the Irish bands are playing at it. Elation were playing at it last year and got a great reception. Emmaus are coming back to make an appearance as well. It has the makings of a great day again this year
