garda powers

    hi all hope ye are all enjoying the bank holiday just a quick question.Has a garda got the power to jump in to a bus and move it if illegally parked with out the bus drivers permission?

    If its blocking traffic or something id just say thats common sense and who cares

    its an interesting question and I dont know the full answer

    But im sure if a garda has the licence to drive a bus and is qualified to do so, im sure he could move it

    as for having the drivers permission I dont know if that would matter, would it not make more sence to just ask the driver to move it.

    Im just thinking of an minor traffic accident were it might be necessary to move the bus to free up traffic. surely then it would be ok. I know that not exactely what you asked but i dont know the full answer just my opinion. im sure they are more qualified person in here to give a better answer

    No we cant do that unfortunately cos then we would be commandeering Mercs, BMWs and crash them all :D

    We can however seize vehicle for no tax or insurance,, or seize a vehicle if it used in a crime or remove a vehicle or have it removed if it is causing an obstruction.
