Hey. I currently work in a bar and nightclub in Carlow part time as a second job, but am thinking of moving up to Dublin soon (my first job is in Dublin, I commute at the moment). Anywho, can anyone tell me is there much part time bar work in Dublin? I kinda need a part time job to pay the bills. Its not that hard to get barwork in Carlow but I dont know what the story is in Dublin, its years since I looked for part time work in Dublin

Most bars don't advertise their vacancies on jobsites, so the best thing you could do is start in Rathmines and take a wander down through Camden Street all the way to Temple Bar and Christchurch, looking at the windows of the bars you pass by to see if they're looking for staff.

Considering though, that a few hundred people queued up for a few dozen job vacancies in Londis the other day, I reckon the staff wanted signs don't stay up for long.

Best way to find out is to just go in, drop in a few CVs. A lot of bars mightn't be looking for Bartenders, but might need people for the floor or cellar.

Someone going into a bar looking for work may not have as much luck as a barman with experience looking for work in the same bar.
