Contepomi's injury looked like a bad one, not sure what happened to fitzy.

Anyone have updates? I'd be worried that Contepomi's season could be over. It would be very cruel on the guy.

I've been looking for updates too.
Looked like Fitzgerald seemed groggy, might of just been a concussion? He'd still have a fairly good shot of making the final if so. 3 weeks.
Have a bad feeling Contepomi is finished. He looked fairly wrecked and was emotional too. I'd say he knew it was over.

Luke cramped up I thought? and Phils injury probably wasn't as bad as it looked - the scans will reveal the seriousness.

Hope Contepomi's isn't too serious, would hate that to be the last game he played for Leinster, he deserves a better send off!

I still think it's odd that there hasn't been more solid confirmation about the injuries or even a statement saying they're waiting for test results to come back.

Fitz was cramp, nothing serious. Looks like Contepomi won't be playing for Leinster again.

Contepomi has played his last game for Leinster having damaged his knee cap / knee ligaments. He will miss the remainder of the season and will not pull on the Leinster jersey again :( But what a way to go Phil!! Slot the drop goal and send that team you so despise out of Europe!! I think he needed a big win against them before he left after all his troubles over the years and he got it!! Now let's just hope we can send him off with a Heineken Cup winners medal he deserves.

As far as I know Fitz is just a knock and will be fine.

I reckoned it wasn't good news for Doc alright. I suppose the best he can hope for is that its not the dreaded cruciate.

He wouldn't of come back out if it was the cruciate. That is mean't to be absolute agony that even morphene can't control (Just what i've heard!)

Looks like the Doc's last contribution for Leinster will be that charge on Rog and that drop goal.

He's been a hero. Not perfect, but fúck he's had some moments.

Having experienced it first hand, I can assure you that you have heard right. The agony is beyond words :(

But that's a snap in the ligament, it is still very painful if it is strained and takes a long time to heal (big problem is that the knee fills with fluid and the ligaments are to painful to move and leg becomes very weak - intenvise rehabilitation required to strengthen it up again ... particularly if you kick a lot!)

not always the case that its agony.

I've done in my medial ligament twice and crutiate once, and can honestly say that although not a pleasant experience as you hear the ligament tear, not immensely painful for me. So just depends on the tear and the person I suppose.

Leinster fly-half Felipe Contepomi will miss the Heineken Cup final against Leicester after suffering a knee injury in the semi-final win over Munster.
Contepomi, who is moving to Toulon at the end of this season, is expected to be ruled out for around six months after tearing cruciate ligaments.
"I am sad, but I want to face this as positively as possible," Contepomi told the La Nacion newspaper.
Jonathan Sexton replaced the injured Contepomi during Saturday's 25-6 win.
Contepomi's injury means he will miss several international matches for Argentina, including the forthcoming two-Test series against England, in addition to the 23 May Heineken Cup decider at Murrayfield.
"I only want to be calm to plan what to do, how to sort out the surgery. I know I will not be the first or the last player to suffer this injury," added the 31-year-old.

"To miss the (Heineken Cup) final and what was coming at the Pumas is painful, but I know I cannot help this.
"The aim is to do everything to get over this and be stronger when I return.
"I will miss important matches, but I will be back in October, so it will not be so bad considering the time of the year this injury comes."
A Leinster spokesman said that the Irish province had not received "official word" on Contepomi's injury but they are resigned to being without him against Leicester.
On the plus side, Sexton deputised very effectively in Saturday's stunning win at Croke Park while Leinster are also hopeful that Rob Kearney and CJ van der Linde will be back in contention for the decider.
Lions selection Kearney is recovering after a bout of mumps while Van der Linde has been out of action because of a foot injury.

A good friend who tore his described it as two minutes of agony but said that in his case the pain actually died down quite quickly and he didn't feel all that bad.

Unfortunately for Doc he had one of those classic innocuous twists that tends to tear the cruciate.

What about Fitzgerald though? Hope it's just a knock and he'll be alright for the final. We need his 90 mph crab walk.

    Injuries are always a pity.

    Speedy recovery both.

Was it the same knee or the other one?

My heart goes out to Contepomi, hopefully he has a speedy recovery and we'll see him kicking ball again in no time!.
