Just wondering if anyone knows if I can connect to a folder on my laptop to access videos over wireless or do I have to transfer the files to the PS3 hard drive. Any help appreciated

Dont think its possible dude (correct me if im wrong). You can always use a flash disk and plug it in the usb port. I watch videos which i download to my psp and connect my psp via usb.

I transferred a couple of files from my pc to my ps3 once using ps3 media center x. I only tried it once out of curiosity and it worked fine. I usually just transfer files to an external hard drive though.

There are other programs out there as well. I've heard of one called tversity.

I havent tried wireless laptop to ps3 though. Must try it sometime to see if it works.

    http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/

Just download it, install it, turn on your ps3, let the programme find zed PS3 and then it's all done! You'll see the Media server icon on your PS3, just access it via the video XMB and search for the folder!

yeah, to the best of my knowledge you can do that without too much hassle. cant remember how i did it, but it was something to do with allowing permissions through windows media player i think. i can now stream basically any media from my laptop to the ps3, definitely music. let me know if youre still trying to get it set up and ill try and look into it
