Worst rugby article EVER!

Is this the worst rugby article ever?

Some pearls of wisdom from rugby 'analyst' Liam Toland include his opening 'car' analogy:
SO ONCE again the Formula One car is meeting head on with the World Rally Car. For many years Munster were very comfortable in the rally car, muscling their way around the track. The difference between then and now is obvious: Munster can drive whatever car they want.
Three months ago I suggested Leinster were a good outside bet for the Heineken Cup, a statement received with many smiles. My view is simple: once New Zealand are knocked out of the World Cup then anyone can win it.
    - Sound reasoning there
Finally, why do Japanese men enjoy a large pint of Guinness? Or more tangentially, why do the people of the world march in green every St Patrick’s Day? They do so because they’re attracted to the Irish culture
    Sweet Jesus...

I've read LT's column on a regular basis. I think he presents a decent point of view, and often accurate in hindsight. I've not always agreed with him but he does give you food for thought.

Spore, your post needs explaining, you criticise his analysis but you don't say why, ie rather than just state you've been offended, offer an argument that includes facts that refutes his article...

I didnt get the relevance the Japanese businessmen and St Patricks Day had to tomorrows game either. But other than that I thought it was ok. He usually does write some interesting stuff. You can see its his own thoughts and not the usual stuff people write that they think people want to hear

Thought the quotes explained themselves, mixed metaphors, irelevent generisations and a lot of pub-level analysis. Think the 'paper of record' could do better than this trash.

Can't see anything wrong with the quotes you posted or the article. thought it was good. the quotes you posted might sound strange when posted seperately but they read fine in the full article.

    Spore,

You need to be specific, ie write your own article...

    Not really.
Toland is a fine fine pundit, better than 90%.He is fair and goes into more detail in his punditry than anyone else,he actually explains things to the casual viewer.

Another good article from Liam I think.
Maybe a bit of fail on your part tbh.

(maybe you forget hes a rugby player and not a prize winning journalist)

Look lads for gawd's sake the only "journalist" capable of writing the worst ruby article ever is Steven Jones.

And that was my two cents.
