Dodgy Camera

    Hi there

I bought a Canon Digital Ixus 100 IS from John Gunn's camera shop yesterday.
Upon taking it home I inserted the battery (the right way up) only to find it got lodged 3/4's of the way in. The battery is now wedged inside the camera and I have tried removing it. I checked the model number on the battery and it should be NB-4L according to the manual, but it is actualy NB-6 with the last letter obscured by the camera. I have a strong feeling the blame will be laid with
me even though I was only following the instruction manual. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

the general consensus in the photography forum is that gunns is a very reputable shop to deal with, so my advice would be to go back and have a chat. if the camera was supplied with the incorrect battery I can't see how all of the blame can be apportioned to you.

just go back into the shop and advise of the problem,
you should have the NB4L battery for that camera.
John Gunn's are a pretty good camera shop, im sure they will look after you.
Cathy and John are the main two in there on the floor.

Bring it back. Gunn's are just brilliant to deal with, and they will sort you out right away.

I hope so, I'd be looking for a replacement camera tbh as prizing the battery out will probably do it damage

I brought it in to John anyway and he replaced it no questions asked, fair play to him, so he would be highly recommended in my book anyway! The battery did appear to be the incorrect model much to my relief :)
