mgo cannot conduct udp port?? help please

    when i log into mgo it says cannot conduct udp port followed by a load of numbers. please help!!(god im having no luck with this game):(

    Those numbers are helpful...google the error with the numbers

    Do you have a konami ID?
    Do you have a game ID?
    Is your PS3 nat at least type 1 or 2(found under Settings>Network Settings)?
    Can you download the MGS4 camo/podcasts (found in the extras section)?

    Where do you get the error?

    If you are able to log in, there is a Network Settings section in Options (below Start Game)...in my Network Settings the UPnP Settings is ON, Port is 5730 and upload limit is 512kbps

    ya i have all that stuff alrite. my nat is type 2. i can download stuff. i have the id's. when it says logging in it stops and goes "unable to conduct UDP port check.(0692:00000003)". could it be something to do with my computers firewall settings because it doesnt let me run things like windows messenger either?

    Methinks this is where it gets a little complicated...:(

    It might be the settings in your modem/router.

    If you have any computer savvy, you could try this: portforwarding. Find your router from the list, then find Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance(the original MGO), and configure your port as described. 5730 was used then as it is now.

    If you can't do this, then do a new thread over in the broadband forum with all the details you think relevant, modem/router make and model, the UDP error. I'd even include who your ISP is and the package you're on. If you can think of anything else that is relevant, include it.

    Turn off the firewall on your modem/router, "http://192.168.1.254/ - Firewall - Off- Save Changes" and give it a go. If this works it will give you a better idea of where the problem lies.

    ya that worked but guess whats wrong now "This PS3 systems free character is already in use by another game id"

    no i think when it says FREE CHARACTER it means i need to purchase something can i use laser? this is really starting to piss me off.

    Sorry, I mis-read your post.
    I guess this is a 2nd hand PS3.
    Right, I just had a look there, you can delete that character and rename using that slot....So delete and rename using the one you set up.

    No laser. Only takes credit cards....not sure about 3v.
