Question about summons

Hi, long time reader of this forum but first post.
Have a question about a summons i got and wondering if any one else was ever in the same situation, what happened etc.
So the story is: was in town last week, ended up gettin in a bit of trouble with a bouncer for messing around in this club. He called the Gards and I got taken to the station, charged under the public order act. On the summons/charge sheet it says I have to be in District Ct on Monday. But that's a Bank Holiday and obviously the Ct won't be in session. What happens now? Do i go in there on Monday just to say i followed their directions or just ignore it, risk getting a bench warrant for my arrest? really don't want to do that because I'm actually studying law and I heard if you're ever convicted of a crime you're not allowed to practise, which would be a disaster. Or do i go in on Tuesday? Will they be able to convict me then because the wrong date is on the summons?
Like i said, I'm not sure what to do so anyone who has been in this situation before can you tell me what happened you?
    Thanks very much

With respect why did you leave it until a quarter to 7 on a Friday evening to figure this out?

I'd say contact a solicitor but you unlikely to get one between now and Tuesday morning next.

I've been so busy lately I literally only realised yesterday that the 4th was the bank holiday

I don't know the answer to your question but if you do intend to practice law don't take any risks. I had some friends who did a few drunken studenty things and got a record out of it. They had to go to the Circuit Court engaging a solicitor etc and plead with the judge to get the Probation Act.

Just make sure you don't take a chance you end up regretting.

No scheduled courts sitting on Monday. My advice would be to call to the Garda station and try and meet the prosecuting Garda and chat with him/her.
