    Hi,

I will be graduating this year and am wondering if I will be able to claim social welfare straight after i finish my exams in 3 weeks or if I need to wait until I graduate in October.

There is just no jobs out there.

Yes you can.You need a letter from college stating you're finished college. If you have been working long enough to build up stamps, you are entitled to jobseekers benefit which is not means-tested,on the other hand, if you haven't been working, you apply for job-seekers allowance and you are means-tested .Eg if you live with your parents and you are under 24 you're parents income is taken into account. If you live with a partner and they are working his\hers income is taken into account. If you live on your own you would probably get the full amount and perhaps rent allowance.
