Whats the cheapest immobiliser solution? =]

Hey.
The original key for my daewoo lanos with the immobiliser chip in it was broken, so now i only have a copy of the key with no chip.

I got quoted 220euro for someone to come out and sort out a new key for me. (120 if i bring the car to them)

Is there any cheaper ways to do this?

I want to sell the car so i can pay off the car loan...
now i have to put more money into it! =(

Did the blade of the original key break, or the actual chip? If it's just the blade, you might be able to use the copy to start the car if you keep the head of the original key close to the ignition barrel. Or a locksmith might be able to fit a new blade to the old key.

yeh mate the actual chip broke.
iv been driving around with 2 keys for the last 2 months, jus decided id cut around the chip and stick it in behind the ignition so i wouldnt have to hold it everytime
and i cut through the actual chip
