It is what is it, a base Focus with a small engine. Generally reliable, nice to drive and should be cheap to run. As always get it inspected and delve into its service history. Timing belt?

Where would i get the service history from?

Ask the dealer, check the service book for any stamps, look for invoices/bill in the glovebox. Don't simply take the salepersons word for anything. If there is no history ask for the previous owners contact details, if you can't get any information I would find Focus with one, there are loads out there.

    It says NCT'd til 05/11.

Excuse my ignorance, but is that possible? Would it not have had to be NCT'd in May of this year to make it an NCT til 05/11? And it's only gone May today.

Are the garage saying that it will pass an NCT or it already has?

you can do an nct a few months before its due cant remember how many exactly, but the garage probably means they will put it through as they cant sell a car that wont pass an nct

Just noticed the sitcker in the window is for a grand more they must have it for a while

    Ah right I see. Thanks.
I've never actually put any of my previous cars through an NCT, so I don't quite know the ins and outs of it! :)

Do you reckon its good value like? I'm just looking for the best deal on a focus for 4 grand.

It seems a bit overpriced and has no alloys, apart from the gank colour I wouldn't pay more than €3k for it.

Yeah i was thinking the same, too expensive for an 8 year old base spec focus with a 1.4 engine and no alloys. I wouldn't pay more than 3, i'd look elsewhere tbh.

    Yep, here's a few:
    http://www.oodle.ie/vehicle/car/-/make_ford/model_focus/?s=price&inbs=1

Note: The NI cars come up as € prices for some reason, so just ignore them.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
