Anyone own one? Or even know where I can buy one?

It got projector of the year (or some other superb accolade) on projectorcentral but I can't seem to find a european supplier. I can get it from the US from one place, but returns etc. make this not a great option.

You might have an issue with this.
Some of the high end Epsons where held, by contract, to a couple of UK company's when they where released.

Do the usual E-Mail to local suspects and see what Tuesday might bring?

    Khannie,

I think that this http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=328968 is the european version of the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 810, not a million miles away from the one you mentioned. Elara do the TW 680, http://www.elara.ie/products/detailsfull.asp?productcode=ECE1609607. A cheaper option would be the TW-420, http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/1827746/art/epson/eh-tw420-video-projector.html, Pixmania get mixed reviews for customer service so Google and be forewarned as usual with online sellers. Komplett and Elara both have forums here in the Commercial Interraction forums.

Ivojo (http://www.ivojo.co.uk/home-cinema-projectors.htm) do Epson, as do Superfi (http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/category.cfm/category/204/sort/brand/sc/1), I've dealt with Ivojo and was very happy with them.

In that range I'd go for the Optoma HD65. DLP all the way.

Projector Central has rated the 720 behind the Panni AX200 and the HD65.

I installed an AX200 a couple of months back and was not overly impressed. I'd still rate the HD65 a better performer for pure picture performance without all the bells and whistles (lens shift, zoom) of the AX200. I doubt the Epson 720 would be better that either of the above.

I haven't seen the recent crop of LCD projectors in decent enough demo conditions to make a judgement about them, and DLP has traditionally been favoured over LCD, not sure if the picture quality comparison holds up between the newer inorganic LCD panels and entry level DarkChip1 projectors though. Certainly prefer the fact that single chip DLP has no convergence issues.

The HD65 has lots of fans as an entry level projector but I'd suggest making sure that the HD65 (or any other projector with a fixed offset, i.e. no lens shift ) suits your purpose and that you can accomodate it in your room etc. Projectorpoint or Ivojo usually have links to the user manuals of the proejctors they stock, projetcorcentral or projectorreviews should also have details of the offset.

Yes, I agree with Ritz. Most 720p DLP projectors have limited zoom and no lens shift so placement can be restrictive.

I'd suggest using the distance calculator on the Optoma USA site as the UK one in rubbish.
