well basically i was working 5x8 hour shifts in my current job,but that was cut to 4x4 hour shifts per week recently,i know that jobseekers allowance only applies to people working 3 days or less, but considering that my pay was cut by 250 a week, would there be any way i could claim anything??as im only working part time hours,is it strictly 3 days or less regardless of circumstances/amount of hours worked per day??

you should be able to claim yes because you are working under 20 hours per week.

    it's also means tested.

I'm not so sure. The citizen's information website hasn't been updated to say this, and they're generally pretty good about that.

In any case, it can't hurt to ask in social welfare.

it's generally the 20 hour rule that applies, i know a guy on DA working 18 hours a week and still getting it. he works 4 days a week. presume the same applies.
