About 3 years ago there was a company going around colecting the silage wrap & netting free of charge.
Then 2 years ago I got stung for €80 to take it off my hands.
    What is the story now?
Is there anyone that will take it free of charge?
I am in the Clare / Limerick area.

There are no more free of charge collections of plastic. There are 2 companies taht wil collect it - IFFPG (the people who collect the levy on farm plastic sold in Ireland) and FRS (who get no levy, but are still as cheap as IFFPG).

Personally, after years of buying plastic with a levy on it from my local co-op, I now try to source the cheapest good quality wrap available and get FRS to collect it - even if it means buying in the North or black market with no levy on it. I normally end up making a saving and I have a recycling receipt to satisfy my REPS.

right i am majorly confused on this issue a frs guy came to me a few years ago and i gave him a good bit of money for tags and big plastic bags to put the plastic in ... then a while later he rang me to collect them and was looking for 360 euro i nearly went mad i had paid a big amount already and there was a waste plastic collection down the road for nothing(well had paid for it in the wrap i had bought ) so i had a major rant at frs it was a total rip off and he said what ever you think yourself.. ffs i was still none the wiser can anybody enlighten me
