Ok so to get an idea of what people are paying for cars at the moment, lets get a thread going. I'll start the ball rolling:

    Make: Alfa GT
    Year: 2006
    Mileage: 27k
    Seller: Dealer
    Advertised price: €17,000
    Bought at: €15,500
Extras thrown in (ie not in ad and therefore negotiated with seller): New tyres, 1yr warranty, New Timing belt

How about this one from your website, would it be a good buy? http://www.carcity.ie/item/58?PHPSESSID=81b5a2182a176d68e171c0ca02889dce

I actually thought that price was a typo when I saw it - looks good to me but I haven't seen it on any other sites so not sure. Send him a mail! Usual caveat emperor should apply.

Looks like the usual carzone type scam. No contact details, only email etc.

Possibly.. for what its worth the email address is an Irish name (ie an O'..) at a gmail.com address.

Again caveat emperor...I'll keep an eye on it.

Update: I've emailed the seller to try to verify the ad.

Ah the GT, it's been on my wish list for too long now :o. I'd probably go for the 1.9 JTD myself though.

They are recommended on the GT's/156 at 36k :o. Think the dealer threw it in as he'd given me a 1 yr warranty and was probably worried the engine might go if I didn't change the cam belt myself in time!!

You should really have checked out the ad without someone having to point it out to you. The impression it gives is that you're more interested in ad revenue than in protecting your customers.

Have to agree it's a bit worrying that this didn't stand out to you straight away and just bscause there is an O' in the email address you think it's legit !!!

I'll take one of those Anglias if he'l take a trade in of my Donkey and cart. The cart only needs one new wheel, and a coat of varnish.

Its a little suspect if you ask me.
