Can anyone tell me what BMW dealerships can be found up north? Newry, Belfast, anywhere.

Inspection 2 service due soon on my 01 320ci and I want to ring round and get a few prices.

I guess Agnew would be the main one, they're in Belfast. Might not be worth the trip for a bog standard service, but I would think
it would be worth it if anything else such as a timing belt change is required.

Most BMW dealers in Dublin will price match, you should call and see what the difference is, tell them what your plan is i think you'll find they will be very competitive. I know one will be JD's.

    I'd recommend BMW Belfast.

All the servicing for my bmw are done there, and it's worth the trip up there for the saving and professionalism.

An inspection II my E46 323ci cost £330. I was initially quoted £400 but mention the four plus discount and that was the price I got.

Try comparing that price to the dealers around Dublin!

Thanks lads. I'll have a ring around soon to get prices. I've been getting it serviced at AC cars since 07. I think I need to get the brake fluid replaced aswell (there's a clock sign on the dash at startup).

What is the four plus discount?

Lower hourly labour rate for cars (not sure how low!) over 4 years old.

why not get AC to carry out the inspection 2?

I will, if they prove the least expensive. Although they are not as expensive as dealers here, they are still expensive. It will be interesting to see the prices I get.

agh right, i though you had a problem with them or something!
dont forget to factor in your travel costs up north and also a few bob for dinner/linch etc while the car is in getting serviced.

kill two birds with one stone, and get your shopping while your up there :D

I have found David Prentice (Main BMW dealer) in Portadown very helpful in the past. Its about 30 mins from Newry.

Mine had 2 visits and was cleaned from top to bottom each time. Nice coffee and cake while I waited.

    ^Thanks.

Can anyone link to what is involved with Inspection 2? Does it include an oil change?

Hi, would you consider using an Independent BMW specialist like AC Car Sales?
    http://www.accarsales.ie/

I think they would be competitive on price & would have good experience with your era of car. I'm not so sure a Main Dealer history really matters on an 8 year old car, in any case the Independent specialist is a perfect substitute.

Consider it anyway, it would be less traveling for you.

Not sure about AC but the orange juice and fresh pastries at Bavarian are hard to beat!

Agreed ;) nice way to start your day in Belfast by having breakfast there

As a comparison, AC quoted €530 for an Inspection II. Bavarian did it for £330. Factor in the nice breakfast and the fact they throw taxi rides to and from downtown Belfast - hard to beat :P

That's a fair enough reason to go to Belfast so; between the price differential & the danishes go to Belfast!

Got the car serviced recently in Bavarian, no complaints at all. Have had good experiences too with Prentice (Portadown). A friend recently recommened the "Country Garage" which I believe is towards Ballymena.
