No. You just keep collecting it at the Post Office.

you can opt to have it paid to your bank, but you still need to sign on.

Not true. After six months in payment you can apply to get your payment paid into your bank account. You need to call down in person to your local social welfare office, with your bank account and sort code details.

Sorry about that. Going on what I read here, or as I interpreted it, you only ever got it into the post office.

The girl I spoke to only the other day in the dole office said, and I quote, that "they did away with the bank method alltogether"

Obviously, there is an exception to the rule. The 6 months rule.

    Sorry again!

Anyone that switched from post office to bank, did your day change, are all payments made to the bank on the same day for everyone? thanks

    can you still do this?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I did but they asked me 2 questions, was I working and why, I told the truth and said that I wasn't and that might not have a car much longer and that the Post Office was between town and my village so I'd be waiting for 2 buses. So happy they didn't say they'd switch it to the Post Office in town. They also said they see what they could do, found out the next week when money was suppose to be in the Post office and wasn't 3 days later it showed up in the Bank.
