Does anyone think it's unfair that cameramen on adventure shows get none of the glory

Just watching Born survivor with Bear Grylls there.

He's doing all sorts of sh1t- jumping crevasses, climbing through glaciers, crossing treacherous water.

But he obviously has a cameraman there recording his every move and seemingly pretty much doing everything your man is doing.

This begs the question- is that cameraman thinking to himself "i must be a right tool, i could be in front of that camera and getting all the glory for myself" .
or "does he ever stfu, i'm doing everything he's doing and you don't see me going on and on about how fcuking dangerous it is?".

    But no.
You never hear a word from the unsung hero behind the camera.
    WTF is that about?

And, like Ginger Rogers, the camera man's usually doing most of it backwards as well.

The camera men on that show have nice cosy hotels and helicopters and food I'm sure.
In fact I am sure because that is also probably where good mr. Grylls sleeps.

But does the cameraman have a really annoying voice and over-exageratte everything like the voiceover in an episode of Road Wars?

    Better off behind the camera

who'd wanna look like a tool beside Grylls as he chows down on camel stomachs while everyone else eats in the hotels

They are cameramen cause they probably prefer to stay behind the camera and let someone else do the job

They probably have enough to bear working with him...

    Pretty crappy job id say
Given the nature of the program (pun not intended), they would need a cut down crew, which in turn means each member is actually doing multiple roles.
I doubt they bring a director of photography and light techs for the job. But im just guessing, they could be living it up.

I think the real unsung heroes are the crew who did the Ross Kemp in Afghanistan series.

With about 50 cameramen getting killed in each episode, they don't have time to think "Hey, I could do that". That's why the credits are so long.
