Is there anywhere in North Dublin that does this and is good at it??? Preferably not in the city centre?

My eyebrows are in bits and mad bushy and badly need a good shape..

    Any ideas?

Try a youtube video. I was bored one night and decided to try it...now I do it the whole time!! It is really really easy to do and the line of the tread guides the shape :)

Theres a place called Naturelle beauty Salon on Dorset street that does eyebrow threading. Its just beside the Mater private.
I've never got my eyebrows threaded but have got other beauty treatments done there so would reccomend it.

I'm a total convert to threading, for eyebrows and upper lip. I initially got it done in the Mandela Spa on Dawston St but now go to the place in the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. Its upstairs beside Debenhams. It costs me €20.00 to get both done which I think is a fair price.

This would be perfect! Do they have a website or ph number ??

Dorset St is a bit awkward for me to get to..

I wrecked my eyebrows, they are lilterally all over the place!, so I need to get a good shape put back into them so once I get that done I will try and do a DIY on it!

Any other places that do it??

Yes, I was going to say the place in Debenhams in Blanch S.C too. - you may find there phone number thru the Blanch Sc. Website. It never looks too busy so I say you could chance just going without an appointment.

The shape of your eyebrows after they have finished them is fantastic. I am always really happy with them. You don't need to make an appointment, I just walk in and if they are busy they say come back in 15/20 mins.

Ah that is good to know..

I'm letting them grow out (but finding it really hard as I just want to keep plucking them1!) so I can get a proper shape..

I'm looking forward to this now!

Threading gets so many of the stray hairs that you miss when plucking yourself. I used to think that I needed to have them grow out before hand but last time I went to get them done I had very little growth but they were fantastic when the girl was finished.

I left the number in work but when I rang them up they said to just drop in and they only charge €17...

Thanks for the info kizzyr, I plan on going in after work on Tues and see how it goes :D

    Does it take long btw?

It only takes about 5/10 mins. You may be red around the area that has been threaded afterward, so if you have stuff to do at the Centre do it before hand. That way if you are red there then you can scarper afterward.
They also give loyalty cards and stamp them for every treatment. I think after 5 treatments you get one free.

Well I went in and got them done at lunchtime in Blanch. Have to say, the difference is unreal. It wasnt too sore, now saying that my eyes watered like mad! The redness still hasnt gone away, over 2 hours later but that's just my skin!!

There is definitely a better shape to them and it is noticeable!

I wont be going anywhere else, that is for definite!

I'm delighted you went in and are happy with them. The first time you get them done the redness lasts for a little while. Buy some Aloe Vera and rub it onto them. Keep it in the fridge and its even better! Also great for skin care after exposure to the sun.
After this thread I went and got mine (brows and upper lip) done on Sunday and was really impressed with how much less red ( sentence makes no sense sorry) they were this time. Super happy with shape again!:)

ooohh how was the pain threshold for the lip area?

Its sore, more so than the eyebrows but its over so fast its worth it. That was my second time to get the lip done and it was better than the first time. Again, the aloe vera works wonders.

after reading this id love to get my eyebrows ans lip done...

its seems so quick and effective.

is it more painful than plucking?

anyone know anywhere in louth/meath area that does it?

Personally I found it no more painful than plucking however because it happens all at once and so fast it may seem more painful. It is over and done with so fast though that it really is worth it.
When I first thought about getting threading done I googled it and that search threw up a few suggestions. If you get it done report back!:)

    cheers kizzyr.

does it last longer than plucking?

I doubt it, as the hair is still being plucked from the hair root, it's just a different technique that results in a more defind brow...

It is fantastic. Once you try it you'll never look back.

As you said northdubgal, the hair is still being pulled from the root and so is the same as plucking. However, because threading pulls out so many of the stray hairs and wispy ones that you miss when plucking your brows yourself, it gives a more even neater finish that looks better for longer.

Go to Studio Wax on ShoP St in Drogheda. Ask for Michelle. She does threading for e16. Very very good. Get mine done there and thrilled with the results. You will have to make an aPPointment as they are very busy.

I decided to have a go at it myself this morning! I just did the middle and a few on the side as I'm afraid to do the shape, but it worked so well. Might go get them shaped now somewhere. Thumbs up for threading!
