    Milton Jackson - An Introduction

Barry Christie AKA Milton Jackson has achieved a lot since kicking off his production career at the age of 19. His first EP ended up on a Roger Sanchez Mixmag compilation so from the outset the bar was set high. A dedication to electronic music and days on end locked in the studio perfecting his dark, techno influenced deep house music has resulted in a considerable discography.

After releasing his first album 'The Bionic Boy', Jockey Slut magazine described Milton as "potentially the most exciting thing to happen to UK house music". And the accolades didn't stop there; Laurent Garnier, Larry Heard, Tom Middleton, Ashley Beadle and Romanthony all took notice. Going from strength to strength Milton's 'Incidental' was Yousef's Miami tune for 2002. This was put out on his own label, Bear Trax, which also released Mylo's first vinyl outing, when Milton and Mylo teamed up as The Pretty Boys.

A few years down the line and Milton is still at the top of his game, putting out a constant flow of EPs on a multitude of heavyweight labels, including Freerange, Urbantorque, Tsuba and Silver Network. DJ dates followed at venues such as Fabrik/Goa (Madrid), Womb (Tokyo), Sonar Festival (Barcelona) and Maria (Berlin). Being regularly played and charted by the likes of Carl Cox, John Digweed, Funk Dvoid, Jimpster and Ben Watt has put Milton Jackson at the forefront of the house music scene across the globe. More recently Milton's Freerange outings 'Cycles' and 'Ghost In My Machines' were big underground hits and with collaborations with Shur-I-kan for Winding Road and remixes for Motorcitysoul, The Timewriter and Sunburst Band 2009 sees no let up in the rise of Milton Jackson.

"Ghosts of my Machine" is currently up for a nomination for best deep house track in Beatports 2009 Awards. His first LP in 7 years entitled 'Crash' was released in Feb 09 on Freerange Records and is currently one of Beatports biggest sellers.
