    St. Pats
    Shamrock Rovers
    UCD
    Wexford

at just under 10/1 with PP.

Galway United v St Patrick's Athletic Both Teams To Score Yes @ 10/11 - I think this could be an open game and the possibility of both scoring could be a real threat.

Sporting Fingal v Limerick Half-Time/Full-Time Sporting Fingal / Sporting Fingal @ 10/11 - Fingal are flying along now and should win this one with ease. Full time -V- Part time surely the double result will be on the cards.

Finn Harps v Shelbourne No Finn Harps Goalscorer @ 6/5 - although Shels will have a makeshift defence tonight it’s hard to see Harps scoring tonight. They have scored 8 so far this season, 5 of them coming from Gethins who happens to be suspended tonight. Shels have played 9 games in all competitions so far, they’ve kept clean sheets in 6 of those. Harps not scoring looks good.

Drogheda United v Derry City To Win to Nil Derry City @ 7/5 - Derry should bounce back tonight. Drogheda have been hard to break down this season but they have a few players missing tonight. Drogs can barely score this season and they couldn’t score last week against Sligo even when they had 2 men sent off.

Cork City v Sligo Rovers To Score in Both Halves Cork City @ 17/10 - the value on a Cork win has dried up so we had to look for an alternative and this could be the one. Cork are moving along nicely now. Sligo travel down with a depleted squad with over 6 players missing. Cork scoring in both halves in a real possibility.

This is just a ‘fun’ acc @ 51/1 but I’m very confident I’ll get at least 3 up. 0.25 pts (Powers)

Also did an early treble last week with Hills:

    Shels @ 8/11
    Fingal HT?FT @ 8/11
    Cork @ 8/15

    0.5 pts @ 7/2 (Hills)

    Finn Harps -V- Shelbourne

Shelbourne travel to the North-West with a mini defensive crisis with up to 3 decent defenders missing. However, Keely should be able to rejig the defence with minimal fuss. Harps will be missing their top scorer so they will find it hard to break down Shels’ back 4 either way. The away side should have enough in midfield and up front to destroy the dismal Donegal side, they are the only side to drop points to Kildare so far. Ballybofey would usually be a daunting place to visit in the hope of gaining 3 points but this won’t be the case tonight. The Finn Harps fans are fearful of a whipping tonight and that makes me even more confident. Rumours bouncing about that the Harps manager is sueing a loyal supporter and the fans have been calling for his head for quite some time now. Surely this will affect the players on the pitch also. There’s a real possibility that Shels could run riot tonight with a 3 or 4 nil scoreline. However, just medium stakes for me tonight due to Shels defence, otherwise it would be a max bet.

    Backing Shels @ 1.9 (Betdaq) - 2pts.

good review again raheny - you put me onto the finn harps bet. The one worry i had was whether or not shels might slip up and be hald to a stalemate. Considering better odds for harps not to score, i like it. Also I cant emphasize the importance Gethens is to FInn Harps. They have had to offload all their players last year, and he is the cream - and they rely on him alot. So yes, i like this bet.

Im all over Boh's to beat Dundalk at home. at 1/2. Dundalk missing their first 2 choice centre backs (including ex bohs heary). They also have injury concerns over 3 other defenders (with two likely to start). Against a bohs team at home that rarely concedes, this should be an easy bohs win.

Derry to beat drogh. As mentioned above droghs missing a few players. Derry were unlucky to lose to Dundalk last week as they missed a hatful of chances and conceded to a lucky goal. They really need to start clocking up the wins, and on a good footballing pitch tonight, i think they'll be too much for Droghs.

Personaly, im staying away from the fingal limerick game. I expect Fingal to win, but i think the 9/1 available on Limerick is ridic, they are the 5th best team in the league. If it was on in limerick these odds would change dramatically. Although fingal should beat them, it may be alot closer than the form dictates.

UCD and Wexford should both win, but theres no price in backing them at all.

We were missing those same two first choice central defenders last week and we didn't do so bad! Think Bohs will win alright but it won't be a stroll in the park. Chris Turner will be the best midfielder on show this evening. He's a star. Also where did you get 1/2 for Bohs? They are 4/11 2/5 shots generally.

Unlucky? Not even nearly. They were awful. They had about two clear cut chances all game. Well deserved win for Dundalk.

im from dundalk, but still disagree. Anyways, just my opinion

I got it early week with boyles. Its still available in bar one and quay sports in dundalk if you want it

Raheny, were did you get the bet on harps not to score???

Would doubt that anybody would agree with me but according to this League of Ireland article, Bohs have a number of injuries for tonight's match and Dundalk are close to full strength. But I'm gonna stick with Cork at 8/15 against Sligo, it's short but I'll take it!

Good call Raheny ref the Galway v St Pats match, will be an open game, Galway players will be well up for this one tonight so prob backing a Galway win as well..

9 to 1 for a shels win tonight is pretty big. You can get this with boyles. Bohs are a good side in great form but the away side could sneak it. Bohs will be resting their big players while giving the fringe players a run out. Some of the fringe players are decent but the bohs manager has also said he will give some of the under 20s a run out also. Don't go too mad on this one but i believe it is value and i feel u wont see bigger on the exchanges.

4/9 fingal with boyles is my only eircom bet this weekend. Even with the injury "crisis" at centre back, fingal should be too much for them. technically two away fixtures i dont think mervue have taken to teryland as their home pitch yet, and they should get opened up by fingal. With an early goal, this could be a large one sided game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,613 ✭✭✭raheny red

Be careful with that one, both ourselves and UCD have gone there recently and could have manage winners in the dying minutes. They are no pushovers and will make it difficult for Fungal.

I've lumped on Waterford to win both halves V Kildare.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,698 ✭✭✭semibluff

yeh im aware how tough to break down they are, but i think fingal have the attacking prowess to do so. Week in week out they face teams setting out to be "hard to break down". Class should shine through, and to win str8 looks very good (although the price seems to have gone a bit)

nice call with waterford, 8/11 is a nice price for them. (with hills)

Actually got 10/11 with that one, then they shifted price. Sounds a tad after-timing but I posted it up on foot.ie before the move

    With Boylesports;

Bray Wanderers 4/5 - Bray Wanderers v Drogheda Utd
Cork City 6/4 - St Patrick's Athletic v Cork City
    Limerick 4/5 - Limerick v Finn Harps
Sporting Fingal 4/11 - Mervue Utd v Sporting Fingal
    Shelbourne 2/7 - Shelbourne v Longford Town
Waterford Utd 1/10 - Waterford Utd v Kildare County
    UCD 5/6 - Athlone Town v UCD

Just threw a tenner on it with a €286.39 Estimated return. Pats -v- Cork being the only dodgy one imo.

    Waterford United -V- Kildare County

Kildare must be thinking what could have been had Cobh not been thrown out of the league. They really are at a lost at this stage. This Kildare side are really out of their depth this season and morale must be at a real low. Tonight they must travel to in-form Waterford in what should be a rout, with an easy win by 3 or more for the home side. WUFC are as short as 1/16 in some places so won’t be going near that. However, we have flicked though all the available markets and there’s one that has caught our eye with Hills. WUFC to win both haves @ 10/11. Always a tough one to get up but a mauling should be on the cards this evening.

    Mervue United -V- Sporting Fingal

It’s the new boys versus the league favourites tonight and one which I expect to be very open. Both sides are missing two of their best defenders so hopefully this ensures an attacking game. Mervue have only kept one clean sheet to date, against Kildare surprise surprise, so Fingal should be racking at least two against this lot. To date, Fingal have played four away games and three of these have witnessed over 2.5 goals. Tonight we will be hoping for the same again.

    Selections:

WUFC to win both halves @ 10/11 (Hills) 3pts.
    Over 2.5 goals MUFC -V- SFFC @ 2.08 (Betfair) 3pts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,613 ✭✭✭raheny red

    Athlone -V- UCD

These sides met on Tuesday in the plastic cup with UCD running out 1-0 victors. That night UCD had their youthful second side out so they should win this game easily enough. This game is massive for UCD with both Shels and Fingal failing to win last night. The bookmakers have been under rating the Students all season even though they are the best side I’ve seen in the graveyard over the past 3 season. This side have got real talent and huge potential. They can go 6 clear of Spingal tonight, that’s a huge incentive for them and I’m sure their gaffer will be instilling that into them all day long. 2-0 away win.

    UCD @ 5/6 with powers 3pts.

    UCD -V- Waterford United

It’s 1st versus 2nd in the First Division tonight with two sides that many expected to be 3rd and 4th at this stage of the season. With Shels and Fingal currently under performing both sides will be gunning for the 3 points here tonight. I’m going with a home win, unsurprisingly, as I have been highly impressed with the students. They have played 12 games in all competitions to date, winning 11 and losing just the once. The students have gone to both Shels and Fingal this season and have come away with maximum points. While on the other hand Waterford have hosted both Shels and Fingal and only managed in taken 1 point from the possible 6 on offer. It has to be said that WUFC are in great form at the moment. However, United haven’t come up against any decent opposition since their 1-0 home defeat to Shels - 7 weeks ago. The away side are also missing be their joint top scorer tonight. All the signs point to a home win for me.

    UCD @ 2.25 (Boyles and Ladbrokes) - 2pts.

It's a betting minefield this weekend in the Premier Division. You've got
the Dublin and Louth Derbies, the Cork -V- Derry love in, the flopping Pats
and Sligo, and the Jekyll and Hyde performers of Galway and Bray. These 5
games could go either way. All of these games will be tight in what is, without
doubt, the toughest series of games from a betting perspective. With that
I'm just going to have a small fun bet on all games ending in a draw - trebles
and an accum with Bet 365.

Cork City v Derry City Draw 9/4

Drogheda United v Dundalk Draw 11/5

Galway United v Bray Wanderers Draw 12/5

St Patricks v Sligo Rovers Draw 21/10

Shamrock Rovers v Bohemians Draw 9/4

There's an interesting game in the 1st Division this Friday..Mervue v Kildare County...Mervue 10/11 with PP and Kildare are 5/2...tempted by that 5/2 for Kildare, granted they are awful but Mervue would be on a similar level to them? Plus Kildare got some players in over the break and havent lost that heavily for a few weeks. Might be good value 5/2?

I'd put some money on it alright, Kildare are rapidly improving and are due a win, whereas Mervue just seem to be getting worse conceded over 10 goals in the last two games I think.

As well as my unders bet on the Shels game I'm going to have a small bet on Wexford Youths away to Limerick. Limerick have a decent record against them but Wexford are the better side and @ anything above 3.4 they are worth a bet imo. Backed Wexford @ average odds of 3.8 on Betfair - 1.5 pts.

Kildare win 4-1, just had a straight €15 win at 5/2..sweet. Should have doubled it up with Drogs to win in Derry at 7's!...really didnt see that result coming, I had Derry in a separate accum.

    Sligo Rovers -V- Cork City

At first I was going to back City here for the away win considering Sligo only arrived back from Albania yesterday morning but I've changed my mind. Cork are too defensive and are without Joe Gamble tonight. Doolin is really under pressure these days and this could be a nervy one tonight for his squad. Also, these sides only met each other a couple of weeks ago in the cup, both ending in a draw (one of them the replay, obviously). Both sides haven't got much going for themselves at the moment and I can't back either side in this one. I predict a low scoring game for this. They've played each other 4 times already and on 3 occasions the half time result have been a draw.

    Backing:

    Under 2.5 goals @ 1.72 (betfair) - 1pt
    Draw/Draw @ 5.6 (betfair) - .25 pts

0.75 pts Double on Shels and Dundalk @ 6.04. 1 pt single on Shels @ 2.5 and 1 pt single on Dundalk @ 2.6.

0.25 pts single on D Crawley @ 11/1 to score anytime. He's a defender but he is also our peno taker so we will give him a go.

0.25 pts on the 0-0 in the Drogs v Bray game. This is will be a tight game with little or no goals and at the price it's worth it. Bray have only scored 4 goals away from home this season.

    Happy days

    Finn Harps v Athlone Match

Finn Harps - A depleted Athlone side travel to an in-form Finn harps side tonight. Harps are in a rich vein of form of late, 11 points from 15 and also record an inspiring 2-1 win over Ipswich Town during the week. Athlone haven't won in Donegal since 1992. 1-0 home win.

    Longford v Mervue Utd Match

Longford - Mervue have gone to ****e lately, conceding 19 goals in their last 4 games. Longford are no great shakes but should still come out on top with a convincing win. 3-1 home win.

Shamrock Rovers v Sligo Rovers Match

Shamrock Rovers - This game have been moved to Tolka Park due to the Real Madrid game and this have resulted in a price drift on the 'home' win. However, Rovers have played many games here as it became a sort of second home to the former homeless side. Rovers are bang in form while Sligo are well off the pace. Baker and Twigg could run a amok against a poor Sligo defence tonight. 2-0 Shamrock Rovers.

    0.25pt treble on the above on Betfair @ 5.04 and a 1.5pt single on Rovers @ 1.82.

Poxy Harps conceding a late equaliser but Rovers ran out easy winner to end up with some more profit for this weekend's Irish footy.
