Anyone know if Coppi Torino Road Bikes any good?

Saw 2nd hand one in good condition for sale today €300 (seems a little expensive for 2nd hand) as you can get them in UK brand new for £379 (€425)

Worthwhile or should I avoid this make altogether?

Poor Fuasto! I bet il Campionissimo never thought his name would end up on that.

OP I think you could do better, €300 new might be ok but I think that a higher spec second hand bike might be obtainable for the money. Keep an eye on adverts.ie.

We're supposedly getting our very own subforum for buying and selling bikes here too, so keep your eyes pealed.

Haha....guess I should avoid that one then!

Have been checking adverts aswell last couple of weeks...so few second hand road bikes going (my price range anyway)! Will keep on looking!

    Cheers for advice!

Looks like a decent entry-level bike to me. Maybe around/a bit below the likes of the Trek 1.2 (the Coppi has a slightly better groupset but the Trek has carbon forks.)

The graphics on it look similar to those I have seen on other Coppi bikes so I presume it is authentic. Nothing wrong with a brand having a bike at the entry level.

If it is in good condition, fits, and you could get the seller down to €200-275 I think you could be doing well. Note it is a little old as Sora is now 9 speed (not that you need the extra gear.) Also note it is a standard 53/39 so you would want to be fit if you take it up hills.

A search shows people on UK forums reporting generally favourably; there seem to be second hand examples going for £100-150 but stuff generally is cheaper there.

Spoke with a mate of mine...he thinks it might not be too bad as a starter aswell!

Think might just go for it and see if I can get it for €250 or so...at this stage really need a bike as some bo$*ox stole mine a month ago !

    Cheers all for the advice!

For that money you should get a Treviso. comes with Ultegra groupset. Fine bike for that money.
