Do many of you have them?

Have been driving on clean license for 9 years. got pulled today for doing 70kph in a 50kph. No excuses. didn't realise I was speeding.

2 points and 80euro please. I suppose I'm just bitter cause I have avoided so much as parking ticket for so long. Now 3 years before they are gone... BITTER :o

I've none, was caught doin somethin your not supposed to be doin while driving a while back (Not sayin what because everyone will give out) the Guard took my licence and came back and asked was my car ever broken into, I said yeah my last one was twice! He said "On account of that I'll let you off but next time it's 80 quid and two points!" Cheers Guard!

yeah, I didn't really get the opportunity to talk my way out of it. He started writing down all the details immediatley after he showed me the gun. Funny thing is less than 1km where I was stopped is my house, where my partners car was broken into and badly damaged only last week. irionic. I felt like "get some real criminals" type speech, but at the end of the day I was 'speeding'. so I deserved it. very sour though.

4 yrs ago got 2 points 10k/h-12k/h over the limit,
in my first week of driving a car - on that damn camera by the spawell on the lucan road - first time ever driving there
I've heard lots getting caught there, notorius spot.

2 yrs and 10 months ago (to be exact)
Got 2 points for 60k/h in 50k/h (pull over thir now boy)
(Although I should have disputed it, there was no signs on the road anywhere saying it was 50k.
I only found out a few months later that ther was a 50k sign about a half a mile down the road but only facing in the opposite direction,

Thankfully these will be off my license in 2 monthstime!!
then will be all clear :D

yeah I'll check the road later. Apparently if its not properly signposted (BOTH DIRECTIONS) you can get the fine/points dismissed.

Do you really want to know when you are getting them? It was on the Last word that 1 in 3 will never get the points added to their licence due to admin errors etc

I got 2 for doing 87 Kph in at 60 Kph zone on the way to Dublin a few weeks ago.

I had 4, all clear since last month tho.

1 was for doing 139MPH (Long story short, I wasn't speeding, 2 cars shot passed me on a road and a garda car was after them, I pulled in to let gardai past and they pulled me instead and said I was doing 139MPH). I paid the fine cos to only pay 80 and get 2 points for that kind of speed I wasn't appealing incase the judge didn't believe me even tho I had a car full of witnesses!!

The second was for doing 75 in a 50, I was just coming off a 100 stretch, didn't see the sign but was slowing down and the guard caught me fair and square.

If that's the case I'm sure there'll be a spate of road signage going missing across the country.
    ;)

    PS...no points here.:P

I was given 3 points the day the points were introduced for not wearing a seat belt.

I was stopped for speeding 3 times since that, never paid and never produced my license.

They asked and still ask "what is the address on your license?" I told them BUT I dont live there anymore.

Chasing shadows. Company vehicle at the time being driven by up to 10 people(not at the same time). Impossible to track who was driving.

    LOL

I was stopped two weeks ago in Australia for doing 83 in a 60 zone and given a $300(€156) fine a 3 demerit points which mean nothing to me because they obviously cannot enforce it on my license.

I paid the $300 odly enough but I try my hardest to avoid it here. Go figure.

Just the 1, picked up a week before Christmas.

Popped a naughty right-turn when leaving a shopping centre, and the "lads" were camped up with a red carpet rolled out waiting for me.
