Hello All,

I am currently in the midst of converting my old Muni Mula to a single speed (free wheel), I was just wondering what pedals do most of yis run with. I have used spd's for as long as I remember so don't like un supported flats and as such am looking for old roadie toe clips (campags etc) the only problem is where to source them, any of the ones I have bidded on in ebay go for stupid money (€ 45-50 in england). Anybody know some good spots for old parts, where to buy etc.

Cycleways have MKS pedals and clips in stock but I reckon free from Gavin is an even better deal.

If you are used to SPDs, certainly use SPDs. You are far better off firmly attached to the pedals, if you slip off a pedal at high cadence it can be difficult to say the least to get back on. If you do it standing it is goodbye.

I would not go near toe-clips, they are a choice between an inadaquate connection or impossible to get out of.

I have been cycling years so started off on the toe clips, I'd run them without the straps just the clip for a little more purchase. As for spd's I don't want to have to bring my shoes everywhere like I do now, I plan this bike as my town run around, hop on hop off all skewers etc bolted, proper towney job, had enough shoe change/wheel lock/saddle removal at this stage

Almost all pedals fit all cranks, unless you have something very strange.

I ended up getting the mks pedals and the toe clips with the leather protectors, they are working out great
