Appeal to the good mods and posters of AH

    This isn't the first time 4chan has reared its ugly head on boards.ie

    Now, After Hours has always been a bit Joe Duffy, a bit The Sun, a bit of the conversation you have with a mouth full of breakfast roll with the other lads in the transit van or portacabin office, and we like it that way, I think.

    Even the snobesque well to do amongst us surely enjoy a good wallow in the mud of AH now and again, to get their fix of the common culture.

    But lately, AH has had random simpsons and futurama quotes, fresh prince of bell air stories most recently, we even had rick rolls way back when.


    My question to the people of AH is this, do you really want to lose our Irish slant on low brow banter, and replace it with the pre-pubescent ramblings of amerkan yoof? The inane memes of 4chan, the epic pile of bollox that festers on its servers? And mods, will you stem the tide if this were to happen?

    What do the boardsies of boards.ie think, and not the b/tards of 4chan?

    It was a brief experimentation when I started college, we all try new things right?

    Maybe YOU went for the more traditional same sex drunken fumble, but I browsed some 4chan.

    Right, now time for the (kinda) serious post.

    Could give a fu*k less, it's AH ffs, nobody takes it seriously, it's the boards.ie equivlant of taking sh*te to your mates down the pub on a friday evening after work, so what if a few people are /b/ lurkers and use the meme's and chan speek now and again, makes no difference.

    They don't mess around in serious threads and when they do contribute to off the chuff threads they generally post something funny (generally, not always).
