Hi, does anyone know where I could get an in line fuel isolating valve/tap. I need to replace the fuel pump on a 1972 MGB GT and would like to avoid having fuel dribbling all over the place while doing the work. Many thanks for all replies

Unless you're planning on needing the valve again, I'd just plug the pipe - a golf tee and jubilee clip spring to mind...

In order to fit the valve you'll have to open the pipe and "risk fuel dribbling all over yourself !"

What you need is a pipe clamp.

................I wouldn't use a vise grips on a fuel hose, unless I was later replacing it, especially if the hose is old.

However you could clamp two screwdriver shafts in place with a grips, leaving the rounded shafts against the rubber. You'd need a helper though or 3 hands !! ;)
